This is a post only for people in radio, and then maybe only half of you. It’s about the broadcast clock, as seen from the control room at NPR’s All Things Considered. Clocks in radio are everywhere. Last week I was with a client in Paris wrapping up TWO WEEKS of discussion about the order in which three stations play their songs and air their funny bits. This week I am knee deep in clocks for a morning show in Portugal. And I just finished going through a set of clocks for a station in Mexico City.
So I am pleasantly surprised at Slate’s take on the Broadcast Clock
