What’s working…

The camaraderie is better.  Really feels like group of friends who’ve known each other and genuinely like each other.

The mix of heavy to light is good.

The news topic selection is excellent.  Ray Rice, Michael Sam, ISIS, etc.  When you do news  you’re on the things everyone is or will be talking about.

The use of sound is better.  It really makes the show sound more informed and more in touch!

What needs some attention…

We need a little more information/news insight or comment, especially in the first segment.  It should start with a story and devolve.  Often it starts devolving and then reaches a break without every actually talking about news!

Once into a topic…light or heavy….stay on it.  The tangents can get pretty wild.  At best they sound very inside, completely confusing to a newer listener.  At worst they go on and you never get back to the topic.

Doug…keep the energy up when you’re story telling or monologuing.  This is a technical thing more than anything.  You’re on AM, you’re on in the car, you have to punch through.  When fired up on a topic or when the team is jumping in, this is not a problem.

AUDIO EXAMPLES…

Good segment, Doug fired up, explaining well.  Burger King moving to Canada, but not really…

Doug 02 Burger King Taxes

More good Doug.  Joan jokes as a unique way to talk about her death and funeral.  This is trademark Doug…

doug joan jokes nice out

And this is example of a tangent and low energy.  It starts strong and it actually sounds like Doug gets a little lost…
