Sets, Resets, and Teases…

Tom’s doing a great job with the resets and the teases!  They are loud, forceful, and more consistent.  Here are some quick ways to fine tune them and make them even better…

Take just 30 seconds at the beginning of everything to set up what’s going on so that even the newest and most fleeting of listeners can be up to date.  Everything needs this…segments, hours, remotes, interviews, etc.

Reset interviews every third question or so.   It can be as simple as “talking to John Elway…John what’s the story of that nightmare interception in…”

When teasing, don’t say we’re going to break, just talk about something like you’re starting it, and say “we’ll get into this more in a sec”

Those personal stories…

This is the show’s single biggest strength.  The combination of credibility and humility is what really sets these apart.  Scott often tells stories of playing at the highest levels but in a self deprecating, ‘behind the curtain’ way that makes them great.

Tom also telling a story.  This should be the model…
