Overall…

What a difference from even a few weeks ago!  These guys have so much insight and unique perspective to share.  If we can keep them focused on topics and not on ‘hanging out’, this is going to be a very strong show.

We need to develop more humor in the show.  Where does the natural humor come from?  Vic teasing Kyle or vice versa?  Someone making fun of outside people?  Stories (like with Scott Hastings)?  Descriptions and analogies?

The hour I heard on Von Miller was extremely focused with a lot of great insight spread over the entire hour.   I know most hours and topics are not this rich and focused, but if Vic and Kyle can find similar focus on 2-3 smaller things daily that we can rotate in segments, this show could be really big.

Three things that are working extremely well and we should do more consistently…

Vic’s insight and explanation. Some of the show’s best moments are when Vic is able to focus on the why  of a game, a player, a deal, a team, and then explain what the rest of the media might not be seeing clearly.  We need to find ways to do this more consistently…maybe have Kyle and Julie set him up more?

Kyle’s questions, both to guests and to Vic.   Kyle’s questions are well thought out and cause both guests and Vic to provide great answers to.  They are infused with knowledge and opinion so it’s not like he doesn’t know; it’s like he knows well and wants to get to a different level…

Tight intro of a guest, we need just a little more about the guest.  NFL agent Peter Shaeffer.  It’s great to hear Vic set the topic first, then intro the guest with a first question so the segment keeps moving forward.  We just need to know who Peter Shaeffer is.  Also, we should reset every 2-3 minutes in an interview…
