What’s working…

Roger’s contributions are short but magical.  He is a perfect balance for Michael’s intensity, and Michael’s response to him is respectful.

The music now has its place, is not overpowering Michael and doesn’t sound too hip for the room.  It should stay about where it is.

Michael’s insights are explanations are always great, but they’ve become a little buried.  I would love to hear even ore of Michael’s insight more often.  Notes below…

What needs more attention…

The open is too loose.  Almost four solid minutes of “I didn’t do much this weekend.  I didn’t either”.  A clip of the first three minutes of this is below.

It would be great to hear Michael be more informative more often and more consistently.  For instance on the death of Scalia, there were several minutes on death and old age before Michael gets to the the most important points of ‘what now’ after his death.  There were lots of long cuts of others…Dershowitz, Ted Cruz, Tv news anchors giving their perspective.  But I want Michael’s take.  I want him to digest it all and then tell he what’s going to happen or at least what I can expect.

There is no need to use voicers to set up stories.  Michael is so much better than any national Tv reporter just telling the story and giving the main points.  The sound should be actualities of people in the news, never anchors or reporters.
