COVID Advertiser Interview [Best Practice]


As more and more clients of mine ask about how to interview advertisers in this Covid climate, I suggest three things:

    1. Pick the right advertiser, who is able to inform the audience and offer something real above and beyond whatever they normally sell.
    2. Be very transparent that they are a client, but as you will hear in the example below, use it to an advantage, to count on them to be very up front about how their business is working through all of this.
    3. Don’t sell.  Don’t let the client talk about discounts or calls to action or numbers to call.  Don’t see anything, just let your listener appreciate and respect what the client is offering.
